Resources for Parents

Munch and Muse Mondays in March

As an alternative to our in person events for parents, we will be offering Munch and Muse Mondays in March this year (2022). Sessions will start at 12:10 and end by 12:50 in order to allow parents to check in during their lunch break. Registration is required to receive the zoom link to each session. Sessions will be recorded and made available to those who have registered. We know life is busy – this “lunch and learn”-type format can help you to fit some encouragement and information into your busy days.

Weekly topics will include:

March 7: Help! I just realized there is a gifted toddler in my house – What now?

March 14: Gifted at What? Understanding what Public School Gifted Programs do and don’t do.(This will be primarily targeted to families and schools in Mississippi. Each state is different.)

March 21: Cultivating Creativity as a Family

March 28: Parenting Gifted Children Q&A: Submit your Questions and we will try to answer as many as we can! (Questions can be submitted during registration at any time, but must be submitted before March 21 in order to be included in the session.)

Parenting Gifted Children Workshop Series

Each Spring we host a series of lectures on various topics of interest to the Parents of Gifted Children. Typically those coincide with the Saturday Gifted Studies Program so that parents can attend the workshops while their children are taking classes.

Parents are welcome to attend sessions on a variety of topics related to raising, supporting, and advocating for their gifted children.  The workshop design allows time for networking and developing friendships with other parents of gifted children.  Parents also make contributions to our Facebook Group.

Due to ongoing COVID protocols on Campus, the Saturday Programs for children and parents have been temporarily removed from our calendar of events. Please consider our virtual alternative for parents above: Munch and Muse Mondays in March.
